When I tried to get a VOB file from a DVD in to Sony Vegas the clip would only be a few seconds long even though the movie was 20 minutes. My solution was as follows Download Super from here http://www.erightsoft.org/GetFile.php?SUPERsetup.exe This is a totally free product for encoding video! In Super make sure you stream the Video so that it is not re encoded! Make the output container is MPG ( I could not get WMV, MP4 to work and AVI was blurry once in Vegas.. strange) Do whatever you want with the audio. All this is really doing is changing the container. No when you bring the clip in to Vegas it works correctly.

The following link explains the best rendering settings for many video editing applications. Of course it doesn’t have the settings for my editor, "Sony Vegas" but everything is much the same except the "Prepare for internet Streaming" section. To comply with this setting you will have to run another program called MP4 FastStart found here . This will quickly move the imbedded video meta data to the beginning of the video file. Vegas appends this information to the end of the video stream causing people to have to download the whole file before it can play. Facebook privacy settings. As many of you know I have been very hesitant in using Facebook because of privacy issues and Facebook policies on selling personally identifiable information. Last month I started using aliases to test the Facebook platform and to write a Facebook application. I was horrified to learn what information was accessible to me once a user clicks "Allow". The video below shows how, when you use these applications they can gather information about your friends even if your friends have strict privacy settings. Last month I noticed two new privacy settings. "Show my friends list" and "Tags in videos and photos". These new settings claim to stop friends seeing other friends and stop friends seeing your tag in photos. If you are having trouble finding how to contact Facebook, dont blame yourself. It took me a while to find after going round in circles. Login to Facebook and do the following. 1. In the top menu click Help Centre 2. Click the Privacy link 3. Scroll to the bottom and click Bugs and known problems 4. Scroll to the bottom and click I would like to report a bug with my updated privacy settings. 5. Click the Here link 6. Click the link My updated privacy settings are not working correctly. 7.
