IPhone not listed in ITunes (iTunesDB corrupt)

So, you plugged the IPhone in and for some reason it’s not showing up in ITunes. You can tell that the computer has recognised a USB device because you can see the drive in File explorer.

If you have a Jailbroken phone the thought of having to restore with ITunes sux. It would take hours to put all of your CYDIA apps back on, sort your icons and generally setup the phone so you can use it again.

The solution is to rename the iTunes_Control folder to something else. On my IPhone, it’s located at /var/mobile/Media/ . Then load up ITunes and it will recognise it as a new device. Make sure NOT to restore when prompted.

I use iPhoneBrowser to browse the operating system of my phone. It can be found here.
